Kidnap of trade unionist who visited Ireland

Paramilitaries try to kidnap Luis Eduardo's son.

On the 11th of March at 10.00 AM in the Colombian city of Bucaramanga, paramilitaries tried to kidnap the son of Luis Eduardo Garcia a sinaltrainal member and a plaintiff in teh case against Coca Cola before the US courts.

Luis Eduardo visited Ireland in November last year when he addressed students in UCD in the run up to the referendum to boycott Coca Cola. He called on the students to vote yes to boycotting coke.

He also met with Siptu reps whilst here. His visit was organised by Lasc. Sinaltrainal need your solidarity more than ever with this latest attack on their union.
